Best sandwich we know
Our lunch started outside at the Filling Station in St. Charles, we ordered a Stella and looked over the menu. We made the mistake of talking about the sandwich at Ivy’s in Wheaton, so we ended up leaving the Filling Station without eating. There was a lady smoking next to us anyway and it was hot and noisy, the menu was meh.
At Ivy’s we ordered the sandwich- Chipolte Turkey. Jesus, god its good. Turkey sauteed with chipolte peppers, lingonberry mayo, gruyere cheese, crispy onion straws on a pretzel roll. We can’t figure how to recreate this at home because of the crispy onion straws. Woodman’s probablly has lingonberry mayo though.
We like this place in Wheaton but it has two negatives. We have to eat outside because it smells old and musty inside like dead people. It used to be a funeral home and it smells like it. The other thing is that they don’t carry Stella. The hell.
